Society Sucks

"Lunch, whoop whoop!" Max shouted, leading Mac to the lunch room.

"Haha, you're weird," Mac laughed.
"Not weird, just incredibly awesome. Many people confuse the two," Max pointed out, grinning. Xzavier waved them over to his table, also occupied by cheerleaders and football players.

"Sit with us," Max said to Mac.

"I don't think that I'd fit in very well," Mac trailed off.
"Nah, don't worry. It's cool, you're with us," Xzavier piped up.

She nodded, trying to avoid trouble. She then noticed Alexis sitting alone, and Mac wasn't going to go over there.

"Okay Mackenzie, this is the swim captain, the cheer captian, the football captian," Xzavier listed, pointing at Max on the first one, "And a bunch of random cheerleaders. Welcome to Hawaii," he chuckled.

"Thanks," she giggled. She wasn't a Gorlovka girl, but she wanted to join the cheer team. She always has.

"So where ya from?" A cheerleader asked, chewing bubblegum.

"Great britian," she said, glad to have an excuse not to eat.

"That's like, really far," One of the cheerleaders commented.
"No duh," Xzavier rolled his eyes.

"That does explain the cute accent," one of the prettier cheerleaders commented. Mac smiled.

Alexis watched them from afar. So the rumors about cliques really are true, she murmured, mourning her loss of music.

Alexis did notice something odd about Mac. Mac hadn't touched her lunch, and it was pushed away a little.

Max noticed this as well. "Mac, aren't you hungry? The cafeteria food may look bad, but it's actually pretty good," he said, taking a bite out of an apple.
"I had a pretty big breakfast," Mac blushed slightly.

"Are you sure? We're not getting out of this hell hole for another 4 or so hours," Xzavier commented.

"I'm sure, I'm just not very hungry. Nerves and all," Mac forced a chuckle.

"Alrighty," Max said taking another bite.

"So I'm guessing you're all into sports?" Mac laughed, seeing all of the uniforms.

"Yeah, you should join one," one if the cheerleaders said. Mac nodded, "I have always wanted to be on the cheer team," but as soon as she said that she regretted it.

"Cheer? Really?" One of the girls asked. "Are you any flexible?"

"Well yeah, I took gymnastics back before I moved and I'm a skater so I know a lot of tricks," Mac explained. Xzavier almost chocked and said, "You skate?!"

"Yes," Mac said slowly.
"Like, roller skate, or skateboard?" Xzavier asked.
"Skateboard. Why are you looking at me like that?"

"It's just you don't look like you skate," he said, "I skate too, it's my life other than football and soccer."
