Society Sucks

"Mr. Henry," The teacher said, looking at Xzavier. "You must be right. I'm jealous that you know more French than I do," his voice dripping with sarcasm. "By all means, translate the board."
Kyleigh broke into a fit of giggles.

(Henry?)
Xzavier did a quick facepalm before looking up to the board. "Uhhhhh," he said still staring.

(He needed a last name.)
"That's what I thought. Please pay attention in class," the teacher sighed.

Kyleigh kept giggling. "Oh shut up," Xzavier mumbled to her.

The bell for the end of school soon rang, and Xzavier began to gather his things while Mac headed out the door. A loud thud was heard, and Mac found her cheek pressed against the cold tile, a pair of light blue sneakers walking away in front of her. Dammit, why is she so mean? Mac thought, hearing Kyleigh's giggles.
"Are you alright Mac?" Xzavier asked, holding out his hand.
"Yeah. I'm fine," she replied, grabbing his hand and pulling herself up. "Thanks."

Xzavier nodded and helped her gather her stuff. "I'm sorry about Kyleigh, she's been acting like such a jerk lately." Mac nodded, wondering of she should agree with that. Her head hurt now, but she didn't say anything. Instead she slightly rubber her cheek and began picking up her stuff.

"Look, I hope you know that none of this is your fault," Xzavier added, noticing the expression on Mac's face. "And I'm really sorry for everything that's happened."
"Thank you," Mac replied quietly. "Are we still on for tonight?"
"Of course. I'll pick you up at six," Xzavier smiled.
"Okay, see you then," Mac took the rest of her books from Xzavier and turned around.
"Umm, Mac? I need your address."

Mac giggled, "I thought you might... Give me your number and I'll text you tonight." Mac smiled then realized that she was almost late for the bus.

"Oh crap!" she said aloud, taking his number. "Thank you, gotta go, see you tonight, bye!" Mac practically ran out of the classroom, leaving Xzavier standing there, confused. She's kind of cute when she's all flustered, he smiled, grabbed his pack, and left the french room.

Mac just made it to the bus. She seated herself down on the same spot she was this morning. "Hey," she said, out of breath. Alexis turned away a little and said, "Hi," ever so quietly. Mac didn't feel like responding. Then, she remembered that Max and Xzavier were on the same bus. She quickly turned around, but only saw Max. "Hey, Max, where's Xzavier?" She asked the boy sitting behind her. He replied, "I don't know, really. He might be at an after-school practice for football."

"Ah, alright." Mac responded, continuing to catch her breath.
"Hey you know, you don't have to sit by her," Max said, indicating Alexis. "You might catch her crazy. It'd be a total shame. Sit by me princess," he smirked, turning on his 'jackass' mode.
"Um, i don't know. I think I'm alright," Mac said quietly, noticing how the girl just slumped farther down in her seat, emotionless.

"Come on, I'm cooler," Max said, poking her. Mac then replied, "The bus is starating, I can't move now." Mac felt sorry for her because she knew how much it hurts.

"Ah, alright, but you'll come back to me later," Max clicked his tounge and winked. Mac rolled her eyes and turned around, taking another look at the girl.
"I'm so sorry," she murmured, not loud enough for Max to hear. Alexis shrugged, and pulled out a book.

"Don't ignore me," Mac said a little rudely to Alexis, "I know how it feels. I've had lots of experiance. I know how much it hurts."

"Thank you, but I don't need your help," Alexis snapped quietly, and flipped a page. The bus stopped at Mac's house, and she immediately got up to leave.
"See you tonight princess!" Max called, smirking.
"Yeah yeah, alright, see you," Mac waved.

When Mac got home she put her backpack on the shelf and immediately went to her room. "Honey, are you okay? Do you want something to eat?" Her mother said, catching Mac halfway up the stairs. "I'm fine, mom. And no, I'm not hungry either." She lied back, continuing her path to her room.

"Mackenzie!" Her mom called, and Mac closed her door. "Mackenzie, honey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing mom!" Mac called, kicking her shoes off and lying down on her bed.

"Are you sure?" She said, being a mom. Mac opened the door to her room, peeked out and spelled out, "N-O-T-H-I-N-G! Nothing! Okay? I'm fine. F-I-N-E." And closed the door.

"Well excuse me," her mom rolled her eyes, and laughed a bit.
"Oh, I'm going out tonight!" Mac called. "I'll be back by 9:30!"

"Where are you going?" she asked, concerned. Mac opened the door again. "I'm going to the game with....My friends," she answered before shutting it again. "Okay!" her mom replied, "Have fun!"

It was nearing time to meet the guys. Mac ran a brush through her hair one last time, fixed her eye shadow, and pulled on a coat. "I'm leaving mom!" she called.
