"Tara! There you are!" Bella practically screamed.
"Leave. Me. Alone." Tara wept.
"Look Tara, I'm SO sorry! I had no idea that would happen and-"
"I said leave me alone."

Bella decided to just leave. "I hate my life," she sobbed. She went off to the wall and just laid on top of the wall in between the earths and the winds. She stared at the sky with teardrops down her cheek. She felt so guilty, even though she didn't really do anything on purpose. Bella was not the one to cry.

"Hey," Colby appeared at the wall, next to Bella.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, wiping her tears away with her sleeve.
"Festivals are overrated. What about you?" He asked.

"Reasons," she said jumping of the wall. "How did you get into the wind?" Bella asked. Colby replied, "Everyone is at the festival, no one was watching so I jumped the wall. I just have to be careful."

"You don't have any real reason to worry, nobody's in town but Tara. Shouldn't you be with your friend Brent?" Bella murmured.

"He's at the Water section trying this thing called sushi," Colby explained. Bella smiled. "You know, you have a cute smile," Colby whispered. "Thanks," Bella whispered back.

"Do you even know how to use Bender powers?" Colby asked, intrigued.
"Ummm, no. I have no idea," Bella blushed.
"It should work the same way, let me show you."

Colby made a fire then demonstrated how to bend the fire. He took Bella's hands and showed her the correct way to bend. Soon, Bella knew how to bend wind, and she felt all warm inside.

"This is amazing," Bella murmured, in awe. "I can actually use it to do whatever I want!"
"Pretty much, and you don't have to go to work or anything anymore. You get money sent to your home every week, and you just have to go in to help during a war or battle," Colby explained. "I've been a Bender for a year and I haven't had to go in yet!"

"That's awesome," Bella said, suddenly remembering Tara, "No wonder Tara wanted it so much!"

"Are you kidding? Everybody wants it, although very few people do because there are the boring every day tasks that still need to be done. Someone has to feed the animals, and build the fires, and give sound to the wind. If everybody were Benders nobody would do it," Colby explained. "Tara has another chance in a year, but that's still a really long time."

"But I just feel so bad. I failed in archery, I couldn't even get the arrow onto the target," Bella whined.

"That was a one in a million shot. It had to be more than luck!" Colby exclaimed, and Bella shook her head slowly.
"I'm too stupid for anything else."

"No you're not," Colby argued.

"You met me an hour ago, I doubt you'd know how smart I am," Bella sighed.
"I can always guess," Colby murmured, softly.

"You guessed wrong," Bella said.

"Well, you may not be smart, but from what I've seen today, you're kind, gentle, and you care for your friends before yourself. Those are all very good traits," Colby smiled softly, his legs now dangling over the side of the wall.

Bella smiled, not knowing what to say. The stars were out, moon glowing in Bella's beautiful blonde hair. She put her head on Colby's should and started crying.

"Shh, it'll be alright," Colby comforted her softly, rubbing her back and letting his warm shoulder calm her.
Somewhere, from the distance, the festival was seen ending. Brent, wondering what could've taken his friend so long to return, started back a bit early towards Fire. Along the wall, he spotted his friend. With the girl.

Brent's mouth opened. What was he gonna do?

It wasn't fair. Firstly Colby was always HIS friend. Not anybody elses. And secondly it was out of Kipengele. I could always tell on him, Brent thought. But I'd probably make him mad at me.

Brent slowly approached. Bella saw him and quickly said, "Gotta go, bye." While she ran off.

"But, wait! Why?" Colby asked, turning around. "Oh, hi Brent."
