"I hope so," Tara murmured, and tears began to fall from her eyes. "She better not die on me...she owes me money for a couple of her drinks."

Ace rolled his eyes and let out a laugh. "Yeah, me too."

Fire-
Brent woke up yawning, and walked outside of his house.

Brent saw Colby playing around with fire in the fire pit next to his house, and immediately walked back inside. He didn't know what to say to Colby. He didn't know when to say it to Colby.

After Colby had hurt him that badly...and the talk Brent had with his mother the night before, he didn't know what he should be thinking. A part of him wanted to slap Colby for screwing with his emotions, saying that they'd be the only gay couple, and for being afraid of being teased. It's not like Brent was never teased. But then there was the other part. The part that loved Colby, the part that was his best friend. The part that wanted to grab his hand and never let go....what should he have done?

Brent looked out the window and payed more attention to what Colby was doing with the fire. He kept making hearts, but then made them break and fade away.

Is he...nah, he couldn't be thinking about me.... Brent thought, sighing. Colby...why was the name burned into his head? They were best friends for years, known each other since they were young, did everything together. Was is wrong of Brent to want more out of the relationship? Was it wrong of him to kiss Colby?

Colby played with fire. "I don't know," he muttered over and over, "I don't know." He was confused about everything. "Why can't things just be like they were? Our friendship is wrecked now." He mumbled a little louder. He took a flame and curled up into a ball. He threw it far from the fire pit and it hit the wall that fire shares with wind.

Seeing Colby throw the fire, Brent immediately ducked under his window and didn't get up. Lucky the flame didn't hit his house, but it came fairly close. "He must be devastated...I should've kept my big mouth shut," he murmured, pulling his knees towards his head.

Colby threw another one, but then he got up and started wondering away from Brent's house.

Finally getting up to peer over the window, Brent watched Colby walk away. "I wonder...will he ever be able to be my friend again?" he murmured, and got up to make breakfast for him and his mother.

Colby wondered, kicking dirt under him. He stared at the ground until he decided to shoot some arrows. Maybe that would get his mind off things.

Charcoaling some meat Brent sighed and waved the smoke away. "Mom, breakfast! Just how you like it," he muttered, his voice dripping with sarcasm. This day is just getting better and better. Brent thought and watched as his mother walked in.

"Oh my," his mom said, staring at the black peice of meat. "Sorry," he sobbed.

"Are you feeling any better since last night?" His mom asked, concerned. "Sweetie why so t you just go talk to him And try to make up?"
"He probably hates me mom," Brent wept, wiping tears from his eyes.
"No, he's probably confused. Now go out, find him, and go shopping for groceries."

Brent forced a smile and went outside. Colby was just across the street, playing with simple fire tricks.

"H-hey," Brent said, waving and trying to act casually. Colby raised his head and blushes a bit.
"Oh, hey Brent. What's up?"

Brent felt a sharp pain in his stomache. "N-n-nothing," he stuttered, unable to think of what to say.

"Doesn't sound like nothing..." Colby forced a chuckle. What's his deal? Maybe he's still upset with me?

"Okay that's it," Colby said before even giving Brent a chance to reply, "It this whatever made it awkward, then we can't even be friends. If you won't even tell me anything, then just go. The Brent I used to know told me everything and it was never awkward. If that Brent is gone, so is our friendship." Colby got up and started walking away.
