World War Three ~~

"Shh," Brandon whispered, "I got a new girl who wouldn't stop crying, but now she's taking a nap with Lucy."

"Has she eaten?" Steven murmured.
"No, she wouldn't say anything either. It worries me," Brandon sighed. "It's Lucy's watch, you want me to wake her?"

"I don't know if waking Lucy will wake Jayde, and once she wakes she'll start crying again..." Brandon explained.

"Wake her. Jayde needs to eat. Do you have any idea when she was left?" Steven asked.
"Sometime this morning, Chris brought her in. Although she's awful skinny, I'm guessing her parents couldn't feed her for awhile." Brandon sighed. "I'll wake Lucy now."

Brandon went into the room and slowly woke Lucy. "My turn already?" Lucy groaned. She quickly noticed the sleeping five year old next to her. "When did she come in?" Lucy whispered.

"Right after you, you didn't see her?" Brandon yawned, and Lucy shook her head. "Well she did. If you hear her wake up try and feed her, it looks like she hasn't eaten in days."
"Alright," Lucy sighed, and walked out of the room to take her shift.

Jayde slept for hours. Lucy was getting kind of worried, so she went into the room to check on her, and she was crying in her sleep.

"Jayde, Jayde wake up," Lucy shook her softly, and the little girl's eyes fluttered open, still filled with tears. "Are you alright?"
Jayde shook her head slowly, and kept crying.

"Did you have a bad dream?" Lucy asked. Jayde nodded and Lucy comforted her.

Lucy took Jayde's hand. "Come with me, we'll get you something to eat. Alright?" she spoke, leading the little girl out of the room.

Jayde followed Lucy with her face sticky from dried tears.

"Let's see, is there anything you really like Jayde?" Lucy asked, but got no answer from the little girl behind her.

"You know, you don't look that skinny," Lucy said, looking at the girl in baggy clothes. Jayde slowly lifted up her shirt only to the middle of her ribs. Lucy's eyes widened as she saw that Jayde barely had a stomach. Her ribs were our so far the poped out at least an inch or two. "Let's get you a lot to eat!" Lucy said.

Lucy set out a loaf of bread and one of their few gallons of water, and sat Jayde at the table, where Lucy cut the bread slice by slice. In no more than half an hour, the whole loaf was gone, and Lucy just sat there, staring at the eating child.

Jayde gave Lucy a puny smile, it barely even looked like one. However, it was still a smile. "She smiled!" Lucy shouted, "Jayde smiled!"

Brandon rubbed his eyes emerging from his bedroom.
"Didn't my shift just end?" he yawned, annoyed.
"Jayde smiled!" Lucy practically screamed.

He snapped awake. Jayde smile was of course gone by now and she wouldn't do it again.

"No she didn't," Brandon sighed. "You were imagining things."
"I didn't imagine it! You just looked too late!" Lucy complained.

"Okay. Whatever," Brandon said, falling back asleep. When he layer his head down, he hit it against the head board. "Ow!" He yelled. Ashley reacted quickly, "Are you okay?" Brandon nodded and layer down carefully and closed his eyes. Jayde, in reaction, laughed. Of course her laugh faded after a second and turned quickly into the face that she had before.

Brandon snapped up again. "Did she just laugh?" He asked, examing Jayde's face closely.
"Yeah, you really need to keep your eyes open," Lucy giggled.

(Sorry. I'm role playing three different RPs right now lol cut me some slack)

Brandon got up. He picked up the weightless five year old and studied her face. "You like to see me get hurt, don't you?" He said slowly.

Jayde shrugged, and Lucy giggled. "Come on Jayde, Brandon needs his sleep so he can help protect us. You need your sleep too," she pointed out. "Besides, this is the guys' bedroom. It's not as nice as ours," she explained. Jayde nodded and followed her out.

Lucy tucked Jayde in bed. Lucy whispered, "sweet dreams!" And left the room. Jayde tried, and no matter how tired she was, she just couldn't sleep.
