World War Three ~~

"What I meant was, I want it to stay hidden because of the thing. I wanted to show you, I just kept forgetting. Look, the thing is innocent but I don't know if I can trust it yet," Steven explained.

"Steven, the thing is not innocent. It want's to take over our base, and it can't! Make it go away!" Brandon cried, not even trying to stay mature anymore. He was forced to grow up in front of everyone, take care of so many people....he was just a kid! It wasn't fair that he always had to be the mature one.

"I don't want to take anything god dammit!" The thing blurted, "I never wanted to take 'your base'! I just wanted to see if you guys were still here!" The thing didn't want to move, it was too weak and it's eyes were blurry and swollen from crying and sobbing.

"IF YOU WANTED TO LOOK YOU COULD HAVE LOOKED THROUGH THE GOD DAMNED WINDOW!" Brandon sobbed, breaking down. Everything he was forced to ignore, everything he needed to stay strong about, the emotions all poured into his head at once. It was too much, too much emotion and stress for him to handle. "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE NOW!"

"I did, and I saw nothing. That's why I came in here, you bastard." The thing snapped. Whoever it was, it was sensitive.

Brandon said nothing, just cried in front of Steven and the thing, cried until he was out of tears to shed. He looked up at Steven, his face red and puffy, and silently begged him to get the thing out of their base.

Looking at Brandon's teary and swollen face, Steven began feeling sorry for him and kindly asked the thing to leave. The thing stood up, red faced, and began out the door. The thing was a girl who looked about Brandon's age, but she was tall and super skinny to the point where he thought a he could blow and she's float away. Steven was surprised how a girl that tall could hide in such small places, but then again her body wait was probably around 40 or 50 lbs.

"She's scrawny..." Brandon murmured once she had left, wiping tears from his face. "And a girl..." Brandon felt bad for not being able to tell, but he couldn't cry anymore. He just couldn't, he'd already embarrassed himself in front of that total stranger as well as Steven.

"She looked your age," Steven said, sitting down next to Brandon, "But most of all....She looked familiar. I think I'm losing my mind."

"Couldn't think of who it would be. It wasn't April and it wasn't Lucy, and those are the only two girls I currently know," Brandon spat bitterly, and brushed some hair out of his face.

"Defiantly wasn't Jayde," Steven said reminding Brandon about the one girl he forgot. "But I said she looked familiar, to me not you."

"Well what other girls did you know? Anyone from black market or something like that?" Brandon suggested, his head clearing a bit.

"No," Steven said, reaching in the back of his head, "But I know I've seen her before, and I know it wasn't from a quick look when I passed by. I know she's in my history somewhere."

"You mean...before the war?" Brandon asked, shocked. Most of his pre-war memories were scrambled, lost, and forgotten. But the few he remembered were precious, and were mainly of Lucy. "So you think she's important to you or something?"

"I don't know," Steven said, trying to focus, "I mean for all I know she could be my cousin. But wouldn't she have recognized me, if she was important?" Steven wrapped his hands around his knees.

"Maybe she didn't want to say anything considering I was screaming and kicking and, ya know..." Brandon sighed, blushing. "Sorry about that Steven.'

"It's fine," Steven said, "I bet she understands."

"I wish Lucy understood," Brandon mumbled, too quietly for Steven to hear. "I hope so. Now what are we going to do about April and Lucy and...damn. Everyone left us."

"Get some rest, Brandon. I'll watch over. We can look for them tomorrow when we are both ready." Steven insisted.

"A-alright. I'm really sorry for all of this Steven, so wake me up when it's my watch. You're going to need your rest too if we're going to try and find everybody. I don't care how fast asleep I am, wake me up or I'll kill you." Brandon muttered, heading to his room.

"Harsh," Steven said, getting up. She watched Brandon waddle into his room and turn away.

Brandon slunk to his bed, laid down, and got under his blanket. "We'll find everyone tomorrow," he smiled, wrapping himself up. "Or maybe I'll wake up and this is a dream. That would be nice."

"I wish," Steven said quietly. He took out an apple and began eating it, while staring out the window. Why was the girl so familiar?

Brandon woke up the next morning, yawning. Steven wasn't in his room, and the sun was shining through his small window. Quickly dressing, he walked to the living room to see Steven awake and sitting there. "I told you to wake me up Steven," Brandon sighed.

"It wasn't my shift yet," Steven said, "Although I kinda lost track of time trying to remember where she could have been from."
