Crashed: A Survivor Role Play

"He's actually kind of...soft," Viper smiled, and pet Bruno on the head. "But we're still getting rid of him right?"

"Come on, Viper. Look at him!" Adriana said, sitting down and setting the bear on her lap. "He does have an adorable face," Viper giggled.

Jared groaned softly, but neither Viper of Adri heard him, because they were too busy playing with Bruno.

When he finally woke completely, he saw them playing with Bruno. "So you got over your fear?" He laughed, rising into a sitting position.

"Maybe..." Viper trailed off laughing. "Derek went to look for Ashley."
"Are you alright Jared?" Adriana asked, concerned. "You sort of passed out out of nowhere."
"I'm fine," Jared sat up straight. "Do we have any fruit?"

"I'm not sure which ones are poisonous or not, but I think I say a blackberry bush somewhere," Viper beamed, "I'm not quite the survival chick," She giggled, stroking Bruno's soft fur.

Ashley's POV-
At this point, I didn't know where I was going. It was getting hot, and even Rachel wanted to stay in the nice cool pond water. I joined her, and after a while I was really getting water. I shot out of the pond to look for food, when I heard a rattling sound. Rachel looked confused, but once I heard it again I picked her up slowly. I backed away when I stepped on something. Then, fangs were sunk into my leg. I dropped Rachel and screamed. It was so painful. I can't even describe the pain. I kept my mouth open, trying to scream but nothing came out. As I fell to the ground, trying to cry, I noticed Rachel fighting the rattlesnake that bit me. To my surprise, Rachel had won, and she was not harmed. Rachel saved my life, cause after I stepped on it, it got pissed and was all over me. Rachel got to it in time before it could really sink it's teeth into me, but it still hurt. I started seeing blurs, and then it all went black.

Derek had still been searching, but was on the total opposite side that Ashley was on. Rachel kept nudging at her arm to get her awake. Rachel squeaked a couple times, she still hasn't developed a roar yet. When Ashley woke up, she saw her ankle was all swollen. Damn, she thought, that snake got me more than I thought!

"Thank you Rachel," Ashley murmured, wincing. Shit, she thought. How the hell am I supposed to get away from this place if I can't walk?

"Help!" She cried. No answer. Rachel was leaning up against Ashley, making her feel just a bit better.

"Somebody! Anybody!" Ashley wailed, pleading for an answer. "Jared please! I never should have said I hated you!" Ashley cried, and her prayers were answered by silence.

It started getting a little windy, her eyes dried of tears. "Jared!" she cried once again into the wind. Rachel suddenly left. Great, now I'm fully alone! Ashley thought. Her eyes started to get wet again. About half an hour later, Rachel returned with Bruno, and Jared. "Oh my god," she said in excitement, "Jared! How'd you find me?" Jared sighed and said, "Rachel came and started nudging me. I thought she wanted to show me something, so I got up and followed her. She brought me here, and damn these bears are smarter than I thought!" Jared laughed a little, then noticing her ankle. "What happened to you?" he asked, staring at the swollen flesh. "Long story," she replied, "I'm so sorry what I said, I just, I mean, I was frustrated, and, well, it just came out-" Her words were sealed by Jared's soft, smooth lips closing up against hers. She closed her eyes and giggled, "That's the best way to shut me up," then let him kiss her.

Finally breaking free, Ashley smiled. "Jared Holbrook, where have you been all my life?"
"In the house next door to yours," he smirked, and kissed her once more. Looking down at her ankle, he saw it begin to throb. "That really does look bad. What happened?"
Ashley explained the snake and how Rachel saved her, while Jared sat on a rock next to her, nodding.
"This is pretty bad, the snack was probably poisonous. We need to get you to a doctor."

"Okay Mr.Smartie-Pants," Ashley began, laughing, "Where do you think there's a doctor?"

"I don't know, I just hope we could find one soon. Snake bites are serious Ashley," Jared locked eyes with her, dead serious. "I should know, I've almost died because of one."
"Don't scare me like that!" Ashley whined, hitting him on the shoulder.
"I'm not trying too, I'm just trying to tell you what's happening." And the doctor isn't just for you, he added silently.

"I'll be right back, don't worry," Jared said, getting up. He wondered off into the woods, gathering sticks and leaves, and made crutches for Ashley. He tried them out first, and they worked perfectly. He also got some extra leaves to try and wrap her ankle. When he got there, he put the leaves on Ashley and helped her up and onto the crutches. "Thanks," she said, trying them out. Jared found a blackberry bush, just like Viper said, and tried one. "Not bad," he mumbled with the berries in him mouth, picking more for the others. Ashley stood there for a minute, looking at the berry bush, then slowly asked, "Jared...Where are we?"

"Um, on an island," he replied, putting more berries in his mouth. The natural sugar made his mouth sweet, and a little bit sticky.
"I know that," she giggled. "I mean WHERE on the island."
"Ohhhhhhhh, I have no idea." Jared looked around, hoping to find something to lead them back to camp. Maybe trampled grass he could have stepped on or something? But alas, they were out of luck, as no such sign could be found.

"Who knows how big this island really is," Ashley commented, "I mean everyone think's it's so small but for all we know It could be the size of Australia!" They both laughed in disbelief. "You never know," Jared said after swallowing a couple more.

"Although I sort of doubt it," he added quietly. "There's so much nature and wildlife around here, and no sign of people. If the island was anywhere near half the size of Australia, plenty of people should be around us," Jared commented, looking for more berries on the bush.
"Gee, that makes me feel better," Ashley sighed, leaning on her crutches. "Alright. Pick a random direction. We'll try to get back to camp from there."

"Rachel, Bruno," Jared called to the bears, "Lead us back!" The bears ran ahead and Ashley called for them to slow down a couple times, the after a whole finally reaching camp.
"Thank you guys!" Ashley said to the bears, laughing.

"I'll never get those bears," Jared said, shaking his head, and absentmindedly reached for his pocket. Oh, right. He thought, sighing. Ashley of course didn't notice, she was too busy flagging down Viper and Adriana to help her with her legs. I need to stop being so weak. It's not like I'll die or anything without it. I just need more fruit.

Jared then reached for the berries, but each time he ate them he felt a little bit weaker. "I'll be fine," he muttered to himself with his mouth full, "I just need more fruit in my digestive system, them maybe I'll be better." He started to pray for himself, hoping Ashley wouldn't freak out if he did faint again.

Ashley finally turned around, seeing Jared sitting, eating more of the berries. That's weird, he's been eating those non-stop since we found them. They aren't really that good.
Jared's eyes flickered from side to side a bit, and he yawned, becoming a tiny bit paler. "Jared, are you alright?" Ashley called, and saw his head hit the ground.

"Jared!" Ashley screamed, attracting the others to the scene. "Not again," Viper mumbled, running towards the passed out body. "Again...?" Ashley asked, worried and confused.

"He passed out earlier," Viper explained. "We thought he was just tired from walking around, so we weren't really that worried. But now that it's happened again..." she trailed off.
"Is there something wrong with him?" Ashley asked, wide-eyed, her crutches banging into each other as she walked towards Jared frantically.
"I don't know."

Adriana bent down to take his pulse. "He still has a pulse, so that's good," Adriana said. They all huddled around Jared. "Guys wait," Adriana interuppted the moment with, "Where's Derek?"
