World War Three ~~

"I thought you wanted Jayde too," April said, quietly again. Brandon rolled his eyes and muttered, "She never talks. Ever. Not even a sound. Now it's obvious she hates me!" April sighed, "Well do whatever, I'm getting Jayde."

"April, you don't even know her! Besides, she has her father. Her sick perverted ass of a father. That's all she needs. I came in here for Lucy, I didn't ask you to tag along!" Brandon snapped.

"Actually, yes you did," April corrected. Then she added, "And plus, you said it yourself. He's a sick perverted ass. We need to get her out even if the bruise wasn't from him. You are not being the Brandon I used to know. Cared for everyone, and when war came you save everyone no matter what. What happened to that?"

"She's with her father. He loves her, and like you said, he probably didn't give her that bruise. She's going to be with her dad. That's something I can never have again. I'll let her cherish it." Brandon mumbled, and ran off towards the room where Lucy was being held.

April's POV-
April rolled her eyes and went towards Jayde. When she got there, she peeked through the door when she heard the dad yelling. "Jayde! Speak to me right now! What did I tell you about just bursting into rooms like that?" There was a smack.
April's eyes widened as she saw Jayde get beat up. He smacked her, hit her, punched her, and whipped her. "You stay in here until you talk to me, Jayde VanCollur!" April hid as she watched the angry father leave. Then, she grabbed Jayde and jumped through the window, shutting it with no sign of evidence. She ran off with the little girl.

Brandon's POV-
Brandon was almost crying, but kept his face straight and his tears inside his eyes. To blend in, he grabbed a beer (he didn't drink it) and lowered his tone of voice. "Hey dude, my turn!" He said to a man who was currently doing "it" with Lucy. As he left, he knelt down to Lucy. She was red-eyed from crying so much. "Brandon!-" she yelled, then he quickly covered her mouth. He whispered, "I'm here to save you," as he saw Jayde's father walk by, he quickly kissed Lucy to hide his face and blend in. It might have been fake, but there was a spark, that both Brandon and Lucy felt. When he left, Brandon took his lips off her and there was a pause. After that, he broke the silence and began to explain ways to escape.

Lucy's POV-
"Do you really think this will work?" I asked Brandon, and gave him a few quick kisses on the cheek as Jayde's dad watched. Honestly, unlike the guy who came before him, they meant something. Brandon had no idea how much I loved him, wanted him, missed him. I was hoping that he in particular would rescue me, but only because I knew if I had to rescue him it wouldn't work out. I'm not really good at that sort of thing.
"Positive. Uh, hang in there, alright? I'm really sorry," he murmured, his eyes staring at my forhead, not meeting mine. I think I saw guilt there, but it wasn't his fault. I'm the one who stepped in for him, and it was my decision. I hope he'll forgive me soon.

Brandon POV-
Did she feel the spark? I loved her. She would never like me back though. It's tough. I have to hang in there anyways. I got up, grabbing the beer. I turned around and quickly put the beer in my mouth to hide my face from that evil porn-watching-discusting-abuser-ass-thing. Damn the that the most horrible thing I have ever tasted. I quickly spit it back into the cup with out anyone noticing. I handed it to a drunk man and said, "here, you can finish it for me." I tried to sound drunk. Keeping my back towards Jayde's dad, I started my plan.

Lucy's POV
God I hoped this would work. With all my heart. You see, when Brandon was "taking his turn," (Disgusting, I know) he dismantled my handcuffs. Don't ask me how, we're in the war after all. So, while the next disgusting perv in this forty's came up after me, I got him to hug me, and I kicked him. Somewhere that was probably very painful. The groan came out like a s*x noise, so nobody noticed. That's where Brandon came in.

Brandon's POV-
I grabbed her hand tightly and made a run for it. They dashed through the crowd, grabbing Lucy's other clothes on the way. They busted through the doors without being caught, and ran far far away. With all this commotion, they forgot Chris.

"I can't believe that actually worked," Lucy panted, still running.
"Well, everyone was too drunk to be alert. Do you have any idea how awful that shit is? I don't see how they manage to swallow," Brandon rolled his eyes. "Do you want to stop?"

"Sure," she said, stopping and taking a breath, "I'm so outta shape. So where is Chris and Jayde?" Brandon awkwardly looked down and said, "Forgot Chris and didn't want Jayde," Lucy forgot the spark and started yelling at him, "BRANDON! HOW COULD YOU FORGET CHRIS? AND JAYDE, SHE NEEDED US. WE FINALLY GET ANOTHER GIRL AND YOU DONT EVEN TRY! I LOVED JAYDE! SHE WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHO WOULD ACTUALLY LISTEN TO ME, SHE ACTUALLY WANTED ME TO DO STUFF OTHER THAN COOK AND DRAW." She took a deep breath and let out a groan before she started crying, "Jayde meant the world to me, even in the small hours I knew her."

Brandon's POV-
Alright, I have to admit, the guilt came as my second reaction. My first was "well someone's on their period." But I didn't dare say that out loud.
"Lucy, I'm really sorry. I didn't know she meant so much to you. But she's with her father. He's her parent. I think that while she's lucky enough to have her's, she should stay with him. It's already too late for you and me." I mumbled.

"Brandon," she cried, "do you know what I saw?" She was really tearing, but then explained how Jayde was beaten and starved.

"Well alright then. We'll go back. But only because we need to get Chris too. Oh yeah, April's back there trying to get Jayde right now." Brandon sighed.
"WAIT, APRIL'S THERE?" Lucy practically screamed.

Lucy quickly snapped, "No, I'm not going back. And if you go, get Jayde. Not 'only Chris'. Brandon your not the same person I know and love anymore." Brandon sighed, "you're not the first one to say that."

"I never said 'only Chris', I said we needed him too. And I know. April said the same thing. Except without the lo-" Brandon suddenly realized what Lucy said. "You love me?"

"Not my flucking point!" She yelled, "your specific words were 'but only because we need Chris'! And sure, love in a kind of friend way. Even so I practically hate you now. The phrase that says people never change? I wish it were true!"

"Alright. I'm sorry, I've been a jerk. Please, tell me, what do you want me to do. You can stay here, and I will go do it. Alright? I promise," Brandon grabbed Lucy's hand, just as an encouraging gesture. The words "just a friend," rang over and over in his head.

Lucy pulled her hand away, "You can't change the past," she mumbled in between tears.

"No, but you can make a new future," Brandon half-smiled, hoping to make Lucy feel better.

"I just really want Jayde okay before she's beaten or starved to death." Lucy sobbed

Brandon held her with strong hands, trying to comfort her. "I know Lucy, I know. We'll get her back. I promise."

"Okay," she whined, "but yes, I do love you."

Brandon stood there, holding the strong embraced, and looked into Lucy's eyes. Slowly closing his, he leaned in and kissed her. Not like the one he was forced to do inside, but a real kiss. And the electricity was so much stronger.

Lucy's tears traveled onto Brandon's face as she slowly closed her eyes too. They finally intertwined feelings, and it felt good.
